Lucy G. Bruso 1913-2012 Lucy G. Bruso, 99 a resident of Coolidge Avenue in Bennington since 1949, passed away on Monday May 28, 2012. She had most recently resided at the Watson House in North Bennington. She was born in Armagh, PQ, Canada April 15, 1913 to Edore and Alexina (Lemieux) Gagnon. Lucy married Arthur Bruso September 9, 1935. Mr. Bruso died September 21, 2001. Lucy became a naturalized citizen of the United States April 15, 1938 In earlier years Lucy was employed in the garment industry in Bennington where she worked in several area mills including EZ Mills, Reese's and Thomson Manufacturing. She retired from Tansitor Electronics. Her interests included receiving family members, cooking and working. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, and then Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church where she was a charter member of the Ladies of St. Anne. Survivors include her son Paul Bruso and his wife Roberta of Essex, Vt., three grandchildren and their spouses, Dennis and Wendy of Addison, Vt., Dennise Bruso and Harry Lawyer of Bennington and Dustin Bruso and Dorrie of Essex, Vt. Lucy was proud of having five generations of decendents. The five generations are made up of nine great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. Lucy is also survived by two sisters Fernande Gareau of Montreal and Marie Jane Perron of Metheuen, Mass., and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by four sisters, Aurore, Germaine, Eva, Maximee and five brothers, Maurice, Hector, Robert, Paul-Emile and Alphondor. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home Home on Friday June 1, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. with a prayer and then from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church at 1 p.m. where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered. The burial will follow in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Friday from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. If friends desire contributions in memory of Lucy G. Bruso may be made to Ones Favorite Charity through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201
